Acceptable use
You agree to use Pestal responsibly and only for lawful purposes. You will not attempt to disrupt the service, access accounts or data you are not authorized to use, or use the product to generate or distribute unlawful, harassing, or clearly harmful content.
When sharing materials publicly or with learners, avoid posting unnecessary personal information about students, families, or staff. Follow your school or organization's rules for student data and confidentiality.
Accounts and roles
You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account. Features you can see or edit may depend on your role (for example teacher, student, or administrator) and on group or course membership controlled by your organization.
For organization-managed accounts, an administrator may be able to suspend access, export content, or configure settings consistent with their policies.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you create, subject to the licenses you grant us as needed to host, process, display, and improve Pestal for you and your collaborators. You represent that you have the rights you need for what you upload or generate.
AI features and third-party models
Pestal includes features that use artificial intelligence, including services from providers such as OpenAI. When you use those features, your instructional prompts, lesson context, or similar input may be sent to the provider to produce a response, as described in more detail in our Privacy Policy.
We use a privacy-conscious approach to logging and data minimization where we can; the Privacy Policy describes that architecture at a high level. AI outputs can be incomplete or wrong for your context—educators and responsible users should review generated materials before relying on them for instruction, grading, or high-stakes decisions.
We do not claim that AI outputs are always accurate or that any specific regulatory framework (such as FERPA or COPPA) is fully satisfied for every deployment; schools remain responsible for their own compliance programs where applicable.
Student and school contexts
Teachers and authorized school staff may be able to view student activity, submissions, and interactions inside courses and groups they manage. That visibility supports instruction; it does not mean students "own" institutional records in the same way as personal consumer accounts—your organization's policies may control retention and access.
FiCelia Labs LLC does not intentionally sell student personal information in the ordinary sense of selling data for unrelated marketing profiles.
Beta, changes, and availability
Pestal may be offered in beta or evolve quickly. We may modify features, suspend access for maintenance or abuse prevention, or update these Terms. When changes are material, we will provide notice as appropriate (for example in-product or by email). Continued use after the effective date may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by applicable law. We work to keep Pestal reliable and secure, but no online service is risk-free. You use the service at your own discretion and should maintain backups of important materials where appropriate.
